WHAT A WEEKEND!!!!!!

September 18, 2006 at 9:28 am (London Calling, Shenanigans)

FRIDAY:
“Night Fever…Night Fever….”
For Lamia’s birthday we got dressed up (some more than others!) in 70′s & 80′s gear and headed down to Canvas, the Roller-disco in Kings Cross. For those of you who know, it is held at the wearhouses where The Church used to be.
Its divided into 3 areas with 2 bars. It was great fun once I got back into the skating motion….however…..by 10pm the place was jam packed with both experienced and non experienced skaters, which made it quite dificult to do any skating.

SATURDAY:
My bosses daughter won 2 tickets in the Red Square Lottery for a free concert held by the Scissor Sisters in Trafalar Square…..But she wasnt able to go…..so she kindly gave me the tickets!!
Headed into the concert with Ben and was fortunate enough to see Kylie Minogue who was there to intorduce the band on stage.
Great concert….VERY energetic!! Lots of dressed up people too….great fun!!

SUNDAY:
HOW LUCKY AM I?????
James (work colleague) bought me a ticket to Chelsea V Liverpool game at Stamford Bridge!!
Met James and 3 of his mates for lunch at a nice restaurant called The Farm. Had a few drinks and a yummy lunch before heading to the game. I bid the boys farewell (as my ticket was on its own) and headed into the stadium.
I was sitting VERY close to the pitch right on the corner of the Matthew Harding stand. I was in amongst all the Chelsea pallava, which…. although was a great experience, made me uncomfortable…what with being a Liverpool supporter!!!!
So there i sat:
- in neutral colours
- Happy Snappy with the camera
- Trying not to show my enthusiasm when Liverpool were in control
- Trying not to show my tension when Chelsea were in control
I left the stand at half time and went down into the out arena. There were men EVERYWHERE drinking beer near the bars (you cant take drinks into the stands), so i thought “May as well join them”. So i went to the bar and then stood amongst all the blue boys supping beer. Back to the match to see Liverpool defeated by Chelsea 0-1!!!
What an experience – Absolutely fantastic!!!

Met the boys after the game for a bevie, then headed back to West Hampstead Walkabout for 1 drink, then off home for an early night!!

Living the life and leaving on a good note- Such is life :D

“Bump”y Ride…..

September 13, 2006 at 8:46 am (Moving swiftly on)

Thursday was the first of my goodbyes. I was taking Friday off and Mazen’s last day before heading back to Bahrain, was Friday. So Thursday 7th September was the beginning of what will be the hardest task about leaving the UK.

Friday I had my boxes sucessfully collected by the frieght company. I had to bid farewell to what has been my life for the past 5 years- x3 boxes full of my personal belongings…..Lets hope they make it back to mums safely!!
Cooked a delicious dinner and me and Tam overate and had a few glasses of wine- Delicious!

Saturday I was up at 6am, collected Renae at 6:45am and we headed to Denham to meet Emma and Louise for the Giant Car Boot Sale (and to make some money)! Only problem is…..at the exit of the freeway, we saw double!! There we two cars exactly the same and we didnt know which was which, so we continued forward.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…..Wrong!!!!
We wernt supposed to have left the freeway! Uh-oh! We continued driving on and guess what?? There were no exits- just more freeways!!!
Anyway………….1 hour later- we made it to the sale. The scroungers went absolutely mental as soon as we opened the car boot….Like:
- segulls to bread
- Flys to shit
- Fat people to food
- Children to Wonka Bars to find the golden tickets!!!

We stood out there till the sun was literally burning my skin (I know!!! Yes, in London!!!!). After making a nice amount of cash, we called it a day and headed back to Renaes for a hard earned Magners on ice!

Saturday night was Andrea and Wesleys going away drinks. The gang all headed into the Railway to have a drink or two with Wes, Drea and Baby Bump. They all set off for Dumfries yesterday….to get ready for baby bump’s arrival.
GOOD LUCK & TAKE CARE XXXXXXXXXX

Sunday- Relax

Dont want to do anymore goodbyes :(
